Questions people ask before connecting work.
Short answers on data movement, integrations, model choice, hosting, and
verification.
Does Chat with Work copy or sync my company data?
No. Chat with Work doesn't keep a permanent copy of your workplace data. It searches the connected accounts you authorize, uses matching source material to answer, and caches results temporarily for speed. That cache is encrypted and wiped after 30 days of inactivity.
Which integrations are available today?
Google Drive, Dropbox, and Slack are available today. If your team needs another source, tell us what you want connected.
Can I choose the AI model?
Yes. Chat with Work supports multiple model providers, including Claude, GPT, Gemini, Grok, Mistral, DeepSeek, and Perplexity, plus OpenRouter, Azure, Bedrock, Vertex AI, OpenAI-compatible APIs, and local models through Ollama or GPUStack.
Where is Chat with Work hosted?
The hosted version runs on Hetzner infrastructure in Germany. The product is designed around GDPR-focused operations, encrypted credentials, and source-backed answers.
What is the security and compliance status?
The CASA Tier 2 assessment is complete, Google OAuth App Verification is approved for the read-only Workspace scopes Chat with Work uses, and the SOC 2 Type I audit process is underway. The security page explains the main controls in plain language.
Can we self-host Chat with Work?
Yes. Chat with Work can be deployed on infrastructure your team controls. Email hello@chatwithwork.com to discuss your environment, connectors, model setup, and operating requirements.
How do source-backed answers work?
Answers include links back to the file, message, or document they came from, so you can verify the result before relying on it.
