Tesla has updated Model S and Model X pricing, bringing Plaid pricing in parity.
Tesla Model S Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive now starts at $89,990, a $5,000 price drop from its previous $94,990 starting price.
Tesla Model S Plaid also had its price dropped by $5,000, bringing it from $114,990 to $109,990.
Tesla Model X Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive saw a larger price decrease of $10,000 from $109,990 to $99,990.
Tesla Model X Plaid saw a similar price decrease of $10,000, dropping from $119,990 to $109,990. This effectively makes Model X Plaid the same price as Model S Plaid.
Model S is available virtually immediately with March delivery, while Model X is subject to a delivery window of between March and May of 2023.

Demand remains particularly strong for Tesla’s uniquely-positioned Model X, and Tesla’s larger price cuts on Model X will keep that momentum going through the remainder of the quarter.
While Model S and even Model X are comparatively low-volume offerings from Tesla, cost reductions throughout the automaker’s supply chain and production processes continue being passed along to consumers as the automaker finds new efficiencies across its entire lineup.
This is the first time that Model S Plaid and Model X Plaid share the same pricing: Tesla customers need to choose whether they want the quickest production car in the world, or a competent SUV with a 0–60 time that’s about half a second slower yet still comparable to a supercar like a Bugatti.
They’re two distinctly different vehicles, so one may be better than the other for the right customer beyond the inherent differences of form factor: Model X Plaid offers Tesla’s best combination of features in our opinion, while Model S Plaid offers the best overall range and acceleration.
