Tesla is currently offering discounts of up to $15,000 on average off of new Model S and Model X inventory.
More specifically, Tesla has unloaded a significant amount of 2023 Model S and Model X inventory designated as ‘Demo Vehicles.’
Demo Vehicles were typically utilized as test drive vehicles at Tesla sales centers. There are also showroom vehicles available with under 50 miles.
Discounts can total over $15,000 on the Model X inventory we were able to locate on the East Coast, and approach $15,000 on Model S inventory.
Buyers can locate new Model S and Model X demo vehicles within Tesla’s Existing Inventory, while inventory lasts.

The most likely reason that Tesla is unloading so many demo vehicles today at a significant discount is that the automaker is currently building new Model S and Model X vehicles with upgraded Full Self-Driving hardware, among other potential refinements.
Hardware 4.0 is expected to be announced on Investor Day next month, offering additional processing power, upgraded cameras as well as a radar module.
Model S and Model X may continue offering intermittent discounts, as they don’t qualify for the renewed clean vehicle tax credit and are comparatively low-volume in production and sales despite being Tesla’s most high-end products.
