KusionStack has recently been included in the Platform Tooling Landscape Platform Orchestrator category. It is also the first-ever open-source project which included in both the CNCF Landscape and the Platform Tooling Landscape that focuses on the field of Platform Engineering.

What is KusionStack?

As an open-source Platform Engineering tech stack, KusionStack is dedicated to providing technologies, tools, and products needed to build modern a self-service internal developer platform (IDP). These include Platform Orchestrator (PO), K8s Operator, Multi-cluster Explorer, DevCopilot, etc. We aim to help software engineering organizations implement Platform Engineering strategies at a lower cost. All source code of KusionStack is fully open-sourced at https://github.com/KusionStack.

What is Platform Engineering?

According to Gartner, Platform Engineering is a set of mechanisms and architectures used to build and operate a self-service internal developer platform (IDP) that facilitates software delivery and lifecycle management. The goal of Platform Engineering is to optimize developer experience and accelerate the process at which product teams create value for customers. The Platform Tooling Landscape includes tools that are officially recommended by the platform engineering community for building an internal developer platform (IDP).

What is CNCF?

The Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) is the most influential organization in the cloud/open source space. CNCF is a vendor-neutral foundation dedicated to promoting fast-growing open source technologies on Github, such as Kubernetes, Prometheus and Envoy, to help developers build great products faster and better.
