Between Claude and Codex, I’ve now ran out of usage across nine 20x ($200) accounts.
I know what you’re thinking. This guy had AI psychosis, he was just generating a bunch of useless tokens. He should have been using Opus and Sol. And yeah, I was ripping Astra and Fable… I’m now constrained and have to figure out how to work differently.
Assume for one second that everything I was doing with these tokens was productive; But now I have lost access and am gapped; nearly a full week for most of these accounts.
What am I to do? Buy the tokens at face value. That’s what those who can afford them do. That’s fair in how things work. Of course. Anybody already in a capital advantage can continuously produce productive tokens and outbid you for them.
But something feels off about being able to purchase cognition. Especially cognition with the origins of pillaging the entire Internet and all works of humanity that were digitally created or archived.
Cognition unlocks recursive improvement. That will create material advantages for anybody who has it versus those who doesn’t; in an extraordinary amount of ways that I just don’t think is like any other industrial input we’ve ever had. The more of it you have, the better you continue to get. In many cases, you just don’t have access to them - those producing the token machines sit at a completely different advantage altogether.
I don’t know where this is going, but but the trajectory of all this feels off, and it seems this gap would only grow as models get better.
