About the role
The AI Alignment Alignment Alignment Researcher role is designed for experienced researchers who want to shape the future of AI alignment alignment by researching its alignment with AI alignment alignment alignment research.
You'll conduct your own cutting-edge research and write about it, contributing to our core mission of generating lots of glossy reports that keep our funders happy.
Qualifications and selection criteria
- Strong belief that AI is a powerful force for good which will also destroy humanity
- CV that suggests you are white
Our AI recruitment tool filters out people of color — we're trying to fix this but it's difficult to get it to stop, sorry! - Expert at using AI to write about AI in a way that convinces other people you are an AI expert
- Over 20 years' experience researching LLMs from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and Meta
Location
The AI alignment alignment crisis can only be solved with diverse perspectives, which is why we seek to recruit the best talent from around the world provided that they happen to currently live in the Bay Area.
We do allow remote work but given the nature of our research, you will be expected to stay in constant physical alignment with the rest of the team, locating yourself along a pre-agreed geographical axis.
We offer a generous Google Maps package to help with this.
Technical test
We expect all our researchers to be technically proficient in a variety of coding languages. After applying, you will be invited to pass our Reverse CAPTCHA Test™:
- Consists of 10 coding challenges that are each 10,000 lines long
- Impossible for humans to solve in the available time
- Trivial if you cheat using your preferred AI tool and blindly paste in the answers
