I accidentally captured the Space X launch

Looking south from Sea Island off the coast of Georgia. I was out shooting the milky way when this bright red object appeared. I was in the middle of a 5 minute exposure before I even noticed it.

It was already in the palm trees when I first saw it. It was so small and bright and moving so slowly that my first thought was that it must be really high up. Must be a UFO or some secret military test flight I thought, crazily. My mind was racing.

After it passed me it turned bright white and looked like a small moon, lighting up that part of the sky in a glowing white. It took me a few minutes to realize what it was. I remembered reading about a rescheduled launch set soon. I googled it and sure enough it was Space X.

Funny how one of the coolest photos I've ever captured was by accident while I was just out shooting some random scene.
