Consumer research group trendwatching.com describes the rise of Chinese brands in its latest excellent presentation.

Chinese brands are making competitive entries into the smartphones (see: China Unicom), cars (see: JAC Motors) and green tech (see: BYD Cars and Suntech Power). The Chinese have created some of the world's most popular Web brands (see: Renren and Tencent). They are building record fast trains, record big malls and state of the art cities.

"Made In China" used to have a negative connotation. This is starting to change.
