Mike Moyer is a career entrepreneur, author, and educator best known as the creator of Slicing Pie, a model for dividing startup equity fairly among founders and early contributors.
Drawing on decades of experience launching and growing companies, Mike writes practical books that turn complicated subjects into clear, usable systems. His books cover entrepreneurship, startup equity, persuasive presentations, trade show marketing, sailing, and youth sports. His titles include Slicing Pie, The Slicing Pie Handbook, Will Work for Pie, Pitch Ninja, Trade Show Samurai, Setting Sail, and several introductory sports guides for young readers.
Mike has taught entrepreneurship at Northwestern University, the University of Chicago, and MIT. He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a master’s degree in integrated marketing communications from Northwestern University.
In addition to writing and teaching, Mike continues to develop new businesses and products. He lives in Lake Forest, Illinois, with his wife, Anne, and their three children.
