The book speaks for itself.
I purchased a very expensive book made in 1991. I am was a little apprehensive purchasing such an expensive second had book from this seller.
What I received was a perfect printing which was well maintained. It was listed as “Very Good”, but I can’t see how excellent would be better.
I would purchase from this seller again.

"Closer to 1900 on the money"

Excellent non-technical presentation of a great piece of Americana. Brian Shul's masterful writing puts you right in the cockpit with him and his RSO Walter Watkins. Having worked for the Agency back in the early 70s, I had the opportunity to view SR photography as a collateral backup to high altitude KH satellite photography on several occasions. To see the Blackbird being retired is like seeing you favorite pet pass away. Hey! It's going to be a long time before anything matches the famous "ground speed check" from Aspen 20 to LA control.

Amazing find from Goodwill

This book hardly ever sells for less than $400 so I was a little skeptical when I found one listed on Amazon for under $300. But to my surprise the book arrived in great shape with the dust jacket intact and nice looking. The book is even autographed by the author! Feeling lucky!

I was very excited to be able to get an affordable kindle copy of Sled Driver, BUT was I ever disappointed! the layout of the book, and all the missing words from one page to the next, totally unacceptable. I found it to be not readable.

First hand account by a pilot of this wonderful machine. Stunning glossy photos capture the feel of the speed machine. Good detail of the engines, fuels and control thereof that have made this record beating plane. There are interesting revelations upon how the planes - each one individually - invoke feelings within the flyers.

Essentially, this "kindle" version is as if the publisher scanned the book and is now presenting it as an ebook. Each page is a picture, not text. You lose out on features such as highlighting text, font sizing, and dictionary lookups.
Not recommended to be used on an actual kindle.
