Joel Macdonald realised how important being in the corporate world was towards the end of his AFL career, when he found himself looking more forward to working on the then fledgling liquor delivery business he had co-founded than going to football training.
That passion for business and technology has brought Macdonald a long way and very quickly. From forming LiquorRun with some Melbourne teammates in July 2013, Macdonald has taken the software that was built for that business and pivoted into a business that has been one of the hottest floats on the Australian Securities Exchange in the past 12 months.
