Canlis, widely considered Seattle's most iconic restaurant, announced today that it is closing its fine-dining restaurant and opening three in its place: a breakfast bagel shed, a burger drive-thru for lunch, and a family meal dinner delivery service.
Co-owners Brian and Mark Canlis announced the news on social media Thursday morning, March 12.
"Time's are changing and so are we. For now," reads the post. "We're shutting down our dining room and bringing the food out to you."
"This is one idea for safely creating jobs for our employees while serving as much of the city as we can," reads the restaurant's website.

The three options replacing the dining room will all be housed at/around Canlis' location off Aurora Ave. N, and service will start as early as Monday, March 16.
The Bagel Shed
Per the restaurant's website, The Bagel Shed will open Tuesday March 17 and serve bagels, spreads, breakfast sandwiches and coffee. After Tuesday, hours will be 8 to 11 a.m., Monday through Friday.
Drive On Thru
The drive-thru option will open Monday, March 16 and serve lunch and dinner, with options like Burger & Fries ($14), Veggie Melts & Fries ($14), the iconic Canlis Salad ($12) and ice cream sandwiches ($5). It will be open 11 a.m. through 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Family Meal, Delivered
This delivery service will comprise of a home-cooked dinner and bottle of wine, delivered to your doorstep. The menu will change daily, and delivery will begin Wednesday March 18. Check back here or their website for an order link, which will be available soon.
