IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Dear Friends, Applicants, Entrepreneurs:
When we announced the Martin Schaedel Internship Scholarship in April, we did it with the open mind that the applicants and selected interns would benefit from the opportunity to have a preview of what the life of a real entrepreneur and inspiration was: namely, Martin’s life – a life of adventure, ideas, and imagination. We still hold these values dear and we are still firm believers that, while Martin’s experience in this world could never be replicated, it could be at least outlined through an internship program.
MSIP is meant to focus on giving hands-on experience with a number of selected ventures, which, since April, under the leadership of Morten Lund have experienced an increased interest from the business community and are now working around the clock to support the expansion and reach out: to keep the operations going and to make these businesses continuously successful.
We will be honest with you: our involvement in these ventures has precluded us from giving the proper and due attention to the program. It has also precluded us from ensuring that an internship experience would meet the high standards that we envisioned back in the day and we are still aiming for.
We have thought long and hard how to alleviate this situation and we have taken the tough decision to postpone the start of MSIP for six months. This will give us an opportunity to set up the right processes paired with our desire: allowing selected applicants to enjoy the most out of a hectic internship experience.
We do understand that we might have let friends, applicants, and enthusiastic entrepreneurs down. And we hear you. But we wouldn’t want to compromise on the quality of the experience that we conceive for this program. And we believe Martin wouldn’t have wanted to compromise, neither.
We are truly thankful for your understanding and patience.
Yours,
MSIP Team
MARTIN SCHAEDEL INTERNSHIP SCHOLARSHIP
Today, April 7th, 2010, LUNDXY Global Ventures announces the founding of the Martin Schaedel Internship Scholarship, focused on promoting the spirit of entrepreneurship, exploration, and personal development. The scholarship is established in honor of Martin Schaedel (1985 – 2009), a Swedish free-thinker and outstanding entrepreneur, whose untimely loss in a plane crash deprived the world from what could have become the trend-setter and business mind of the century.
The Martin Schaedel Internship Scholarship (MSIP) focuses on providing a varied and diverse experience for high-school graduates, who have the desire to explore different ventures and businesses through an intensive three-month internship program. The program, in essence reflecting the fast-paced life of Martin Schaedel, creates an environment that allows the winners to experience three different companies in only three months. Through MSIP, LUNDXY Global Ventures hopes to foster critical thinking, open business minds, and a sense of measured risk-taking that are vital for any successful entrepreneur.
The Martin Schaedel Internship Scholarship is an annual award that provides the winners a chance to intern at six different companies, where they can explore the daily business operations and learn the skills necessary to develop their own ventures. Each internship within the program is one month long, starting on the first Monday of the month, and is different in set-up and business matter from the remaining five. The internships are not paid opportunities – MSIP covers the cost of accommodation and transportation for the participants, who remain responsible for personal expenses.
