Firesheep banned from AMO

1 min read Original article ↗

I was reading email from the internal addons.mozilla.org editors mailing list and found this rather interesting email dated the 27th of the 10th – yes a bit old, been very busy with trying to finish my last semester of university and had little time for everything else.

Hi Editors,

Many of you have probably read about the Firesheep add-on that’s been in the news the last couple of days.

http://techcrunch.com/2010/10/24/firesheep-in-wolves-clothing-app-lets-you-hack-into-twitter-facebook-accounts-easily/

Firesheep is not currently listed on AMO. If anyone becomes aware of it being submitted to AMO, or ever encounters similar functionality while reviewing an add-on, please let me know immediately.

Thanks for all you do 🙂

Justin

Which is good in my opinion.  Firesheep might be good for scaring a few people into action over their sites security (but should they have to?) but I don’t really want the general population to know about it.  Thoughts?
