For the last few weeks I’ve been thinking about the problems Apple must solve before they can succesfully sell their own Apple branded TV set.

One of the biggest problems is that most people buy a new TV every 5-7 years; not an ideal situation given the speed at wich computer chips are becoming more powerfull year after year.

Tinkering with my first generation Mac Mini last week I had an idea while looking at the big power brick, and trust me this thing is big, almost a third the size of the Mac Mini itself.

What if Apple sells a super thin LCD/OLED screen with a separate “CPU brick” that contains al the other stuff. The power supply, HDMI ports and the CPU. This way they could sell a upgrade brick every 12-24 months and make the screen extremely thin.
