“Kickstarting” Our Way to Kickstarter
Yep, we’re just a couple of weeks live. And yep, we just redesigned our website. Here’s why…
This version of the Beanstalk Labs website is designed to do two things:
- To introduce people to Beanstalk Labs and explain our first product, the Growth Chart.
- To give interested parents and supporters an easy mechanism to express that interest and stay up to date as we make progress.
Our previous website design did those two things, but it lacked a sense of urgency and accountability for what we’re trying to accomplish. This stage of validation for the Growth Chart represents a GO vs. NO GO gateway for our product development. We simply can’t afford to let that decision-making process languish through a long and drawn out validation period.
Accountability is good. Time restraints are good.
This new site design holds us (and — to a lesser extent — our growing list of excited parents) accountable for the future of the product. Our goal is simple: We’ve allowed ourselves 30 days in which to “kickstart” our way to 2,000 email addresses from interested parents.
Time, and a lot of hard work, will determine whether or not we make that goal. If we do, then we’ll immediately begin planning for the launch of our Kickstarter campaign so we can pre-sell our first round of Growth Chart kits. If not, well, we’ll deal with that when the time comes.
Want to help us meet our goal? Head to BeanstalkLabs.co to leave your email address and then spread the word to help us out.
While we love the idea of “kickstarting” for email addresses, the credit for the idea goes to the good folks at Yoovi who have 4 days remaining to reach their own goal.
