Facebook Ramps Up Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Efforts in Open Source

Facebook detailed steps it is taking to ensure diversity, equity and inclusion in its open source efforts.

The social network said in a blog post Monday that it is reviewing all of the communities that it provides financial support to and requiring those communities to have codes of conduct in place and enforce those rules.

Facebook is also updating its own code of conduct in order to ensure that it can consider circumstances where a person’s behavior outside of a project can harm the project of community.

The company wrote, “Open source is about more than just code—it’s also about facilitating environments where collaborators from all backgrounds can have constructive conversations respectfully.
