Interesting case. It wasn’t the quality of the book that killed the deal, it was the uncertainty around how it was written. This feels less like an AI problem and more like a trust problem. If publishers can’t verify authorship, cases like this are probably going to become more common.

Two million for a fiction novel? I had no idea authors were getting that much, given the volume of work produced.
