Show HN: 1,280 open USDZ furniture assets for VR/AR
lx2026.github.ioI created this collection because I wanted a openly downloadable collection of ordinary household objects for spatial-computing prototypes. Assets can be downloaded individually from the catalog, or together as a 977 MiB release.
The collection was created by GPT 5.6 Sol end-to-end for design, specification, procedural Blender construction, packaging, and QA workflow. Is it possible to see a rotating 3D version in your site? Have you verified each one? Most are fine, but "Scandinavian Birch Oval Crib" is quite bad. I tested a handful of the models with my Apple Vision Pro, 3d quality is still pretty early stage I would say. I plan to use it as a benchmark and repeat the experiment with the next generation of models and compare the progress. Nice 3D visualization. I'd remove the yellow "View in 3D button" and just make all the image clickable. Perhaps you can add a small 3D symbol in a corner, but I expect people to just click to try it. I expect people to complain about weird objects if they see "validated". Are you using AI to "validate" the creations of AI? Do you have more details about that? On the other hand, the guy of the "pelican in a bicycle" is a local celebrity. Is it possible to add a permalink to the object or 3D visualization? Some random examples that catch my eye: * Georgian Mahogany Kneehole Pedestal Desk: Has the front page of a drawer but not the drawer itself. * Brushed-Brass Arched Mantel Clock: In the 3D visualization, the bronce part is semitransparent. (Perhaps no AI fault, but a bug in the 3D viewer?) * Honed-Travertine Drum Desk Clock: Weird by I like it. :) * French Provincial Painted-Ash Serpentine Dresser: It has a wavy bar at the bottom. I've seen it in a few examples, mostly in white objects. Do you know why the AI likes it? Thanks for looking this so closely and appreciate the feedbacks! The automated checks is bound by AI's capabilities today - it can verify the basics like scale, orientation, but nothing more. Also, the reference photos are available too in case you are curious.
