It's a useful project, registrar's added price is crazy sometimes. Though, a language selection can be improved, I can't switch to English while Russian is hard-to-read due to being a machine translation

Thanks, went ahead and fixed the translation issue.

Working on getting direct nic pricing over time

It's not the domain that makes the site. It's the site that makes the domain. Nice site.

Maybe I’m missing something, but why would someone use this for domain registration? There are already a lot of reputable registrars with lower prices. Curious what the main advantage is.

Every new idea starts small. The prices will keep going down as we are able to register directly with the nic's, so it should be on par sooner or later with all the big ones. Also going to try and have it populate all the expired/dropping from all the providers so its easy to bid on a domain if its dropping on say dropcatch, dynadot, etc.

That's a long way of saying nothing makes us stand out from our competitors.

Especially since you're not even a registrar. You're just a middleman, like Njalla... Therefore, for every domain we register with you, you are the owner, not us.

      > We register and manage domain names on your behalf through Dynadot

      • nadermxOP 17 days ago

Sure. And if I follow your logic, only godaddy should be the only registrar that exists. No need for competition, diffrent ux, diffrent domains, etc.

          > And if I follow your logic, only godaddy should be the only registrar that exists

          No.

Njalla states in their terms that the domain is registered under their name. Domains registered under NS6 are in fact registered under your name, not NS6. Therefor making you the owner of them. Since that's how ICANN rules work.

"We register and manage domain names on your behalf through Dynadot, an ICANN-accredited registrar."

means we are acting as a registration service or reseller. In practice:

Dynadot is the ICANN-accredited registrar. NS6 is facilitating the registration and managing it for you. You are the registrant if your name (or your company) is listed in the registrant contact information.

Namecheap for example, started this way instead of using dynadot, used enom, https://forumweb.hosting/14401-is-namecheap-com-an-enom-rese...

            or in short; Yes.
