Flat compared to 2 months ago. Chart looks like a pump-and-dump. 50% up and back. Is there any precedence in history for a swing like this over a two month period for the IBM stock?
The 50% increase was due in part to IBM's acquisition of Confluent under the assumption that it would help IBM derive additional business from the datalake segment.
Wasn't that acquisition announced in December 2025 and closed in March 2026? Hard to imagine it created a sudden spike in the share price only in late May.
It impacted IBM's projected sales pipeline for the quarter.
