Trump notifies Congress of new war against Iran

Loosest cannon ever. Completely rogue. Of course there is zero respect for governance, for democracy, for the system.
> Trump had previously notified lawmakers in May that the war launched in February had “terminated,” thereby negating a 60-day legal deadline under which military operations must halt without congressional authorization.
This is an interesting way to game the system. End each 60-day war and start a new one, it's a new war so a new 60-day window.
That might be a loophole, but in this case I don't think it matters. The emergency powers let the president do whatever they want at this point. And even if there is a law preventing endless war, Congress is completely fine with it, and has been for decades.
as a Russian, I'm still waiting for EU/UK/AU/NZ/CA/JP/etc to impose sanctions upon the US over the previous illegal war :)
You’re not in a position to gloat, my friend
why not? it was hilarious to watch EU firebrands 'express concern' and 'urge restraint'. Bosnia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and Syria might as well have happened on another planet in another century, but Iran is happening right now and I'm not seeing European talking heads urging American people to take up arms against their government to end this illegal (?) war.
They won't, because they are vassals and not even aware of it.
Oh, I see. So, it's not another forever war. It's just the second of an unlimited number of short, 2-month wars. Got it.
Lets go. In and out. Two week adventure.
