i think the mapcn package i'm using. i think it's best if change it, honestly. it got mangled up, when i started plotting a certain number of pins.

well, this solves their biggest problem of sourcing newer startups. which is the whole reason they made their emails public. they're def open to newer ideas and startups that they could fund.

well, you might find someone on this list, who might be connected to a GP at a16z. cant discount that idea.

Does the post explain how the data was obtained? Or is it simply some kind of scraped list to get attention?
i collected and curated it over the months. Also, what attention? this is free for all. always will be.
i'm sorry, I meant attention of the project (as in surfacing it). It'd be worth specifying your methodology somewhere in the page. That is arguably an important piece of important.

i dont think so tbh. they willingly made their emails open to the public. they have a sourcing problem for all we know
would be nice to be able to simply get the list instead of having an ominous heatmap

well, this helps people who're having trouble finding out public facing email addresses of investors at various VC firms. thought i'd make it easier for founders to reach out to GPs and angels who'd wanna talk.
yeah but all you'll cause with this is spam and they open doors will close. let founder do the work and figure it out themselves.
that's a very one dimensional way of looking at it. investors made it public, knowing full well that they'd get a bunch of emails. that's what they want too.

LMAO yes, so are the bay area ones. I used mapcn ,which is a free tool to make those pins. it kinda got mangled up in the process.

You have some kind of bias in the dataset or the visualization. It's showing places in "Boston" to be south east of the city in a completely different location.
it's the mapcn package i'm using. after i plotted 300 points, the spacing got fucked up. just the spacing tho. everything else works.
Jamaica Bay has _all_ the VCs in NYC!
please dont kill me, it's the package i'm using. i'll use a better one when i get the time.
