The majority of people (>50%) do not have an income at all in the United States.

Only ~160 million of America's ~340 million had a job last year (raw figures).

While places like China have over 90% home ownership and very high employment among their citizens, the majority of Americans are denied work and priced out of housing.

Institutional wealth is being increasingly reserved only for those who already have it, and is being extended to include once-basic things like having a house.

They are saying: Nobody deserves a house. If you build enough wealth, you may buy one - as if it's a Ferrari.

So yeah, maybe we're not savvy or maybe the game is rigged and the asset owning class likes to see people suffer.
