As expected. There were decades where the post-war system suppressed their need to rearm (per Ismay). That suppression has been removed, and there have been examples of what happens when “sufficient defensive mechanisms” aren’t present.

Meh. They don't have the industrial capacity for drones and the population for standing army. And germany are too afraid of being called racists to mobilize the cannon fodder that voluntarily and illegally crosses their border every year.
