Satellite data show trees delay budburst across landscapes to escape herbivores

This reminds me of other research on the opposite end, where the the timing (and consistency) of deciduous tree species shedding leaves in the autumn, where there is a strategic element for fighting against insect pests, and their yearly cycles.
