I think there is some room for AI in courts. The vast majority of cases are mundane, and an AI could be used to summarize the main points and highlight the concerned laws.

India, for example, has a multi decade backlog of cases, especially civil cases. An AI system that went through the cases and came up with a proposed resolution for review by some legal folks, I think could help make a serious dent in that mountain of cases.

A judge hearing a routine administrative order in the English insolvency courts spied something amiss in the drafting and the judgement takes us through the perils of a) poor chatbot use and b) the reputational risk of said use.
