Pope Leo warns AI revolution driven by 'idolatry of profit'

Hey that's the Pope.

You have to expect that about a billion of the people he leads can righteously respect his warning when it comes to the idolatry component. Which may even be an underestimate.

OTOH he is likely to be overestimating the "profit" part.

Could be more like idolatry of cash flow alone, at this point.

Which can be better than profits for some participants. The bigger the flows in any direction, a small percent diversion toward a highly-placed individual can really add up without any profits at all.

God only knows what it would be like if lush profits do develop for every single one of the faithful enthusiasts who have taken a stake, if their ongoing prayers are answered as gloriously as they imagine :\
