Marketer claimed it could tap devices for ad targeting will pay $880K settlement

So it seems they didn't get tagged for listening to users to sell them targeted ads.

No, they got tagged for NOT doing this but claiming they could. The victims here were not the users but the deceived advertisers.

Everything about this is terrible.
