The genesis mission is an attack on science and research.

The executive has slashed NSF grants and are now requiring almost every natural science research team to apply through this hastily prepared channel instead.

Review is done by "domain experts and AI experts", not traditional scientific boards or sytemic review. Everything has to be done with AI products in mind. Every project must include "industry partners" (big tech forma), and research teams have to share their research data with said industry partners. Oh, and half the money they get, of course.
