Soon enough there will be no market in America.

BYD would need to invest in a bunch of things to enter the US market:

- Lobbyists and bribes to repeal the corrupt Elon Musk protectionism

- PR and marketing to increase brand trust and awareness

- Homologation (country-specific changes/features) to meet all 50 states and federal standards

- Crash testing

- Sales/fulfillment centers

- Service centers*

- Parts distribution network*

* Maybe combined with previous item

These would be a lot of expensive things to invest in without a giant, certain upside.

They’re coming to Canada any day now, so many of the items on your list are underway in North America.

Nice. Canadian homologation will get about 95% of US requirements. They'll still have hurdles of the ban/tariffs, crash testing, and build out of sales & service.

I've been weighing emigrating to New Brunswick to be around chiller people on average and functional healthcare. Average Americans have exceeded my tolerance level becoming generally too foolish, dramatic, paranoid, and ill-informed. I'll have to try it out for a bit first.

      Thanks for that info update.

I’m in small mountain town BC, I immigrated here 15 years ago, life is great. We bike our kid to free daycare everyday, drive 15 min to an incredibly friendly little ski resort with no cell service.

Everyone has healthcare, is really friendly and chill. It’s a kind place where people care for each other.

        Highly recommend
