America's descent into state capitalism is exaggerated

State primacy over capitalists is an ascent, not descent of society.

Profiteers running everything is what a narco-state looks like, a criminal enterprise where the exploitation for profit supersedes every other social good.

Trump is morally bankrupt, but perhaps the only thing to his credit is his bullying of US oligarchs to acquiesce to state power. That he is doing so purely because of his own pathological desire for personal supremacy removes that credit, but that is beside this particular point
