I'm vaguely reminded of the mobile game Send Me to Heaven, which involved throwing your phone as high into the air as you could to get a high score, but was really made to get people to accidentally destroy their phones if they failed to catch them.

It pleases me to know this exists. I had the same idea to make this kind of app. Explicitly to help people break their phones.

Never made it. I figured Apple wouldn’t permit it. And well it’s fun to think about… I am not really that big of a dick.

Same. I also always wanted to make a Pokemon Go game where the rarest pokemon were geolocated in places like active volcanic spots, yellowstone sulfur pits, tops of mountains, etc.

I remember when Apple‘s spinning hard drives got an accelerometer to park the head if it looked like the laptop was falling off a table, so you wouldn’t get a head crash. Somebody made a nifty little widget where you could slap your MacBook on the left or right to switch spaces (virtual desktops). It was actually tremendously satisfying, although it just felt wrong to hit my hard drive on purpose.
