Why Is It So Hard to Make a Good Weather App?

It was called Dark Skies. Apple bought it and killed it. The patent/legal threats from any attempt that might intersect with either Dark Skies' unused features (those not implemented or already implemented) are still in the magazine waiting for anyone that might reach into that market space.
