This asks a lot from society in terms of parental leave and support, and it's really not helpful to hear "suck it up, have kids rather than a career". That genie's not getting stuffed back into the bottle unless there is significant, somewhat hostile social changes.
How many men, and it's usually men, are not interested in any fair contribution in terms of mental load and domestic labor for 6 to 10 years. This asks a lot from men, who typically haven't taken this opportunity to contribute. Now that women, gladly, have the choice to play other roles in society, it's time for men to step up and be supportive of their partners. Turn out, some of the unmarried women who don't want children know that doing both "career and kids" is impossible without a supporting partner, which is not the majority of men in Japan.

It's funny, because many of those same women end up going into HR or some other job where they treat everyone around them like the childen they never had.
Many also regret this decision when they are past the point of being able to have children.
