Silicon Valley is buzzing about this new idea: AI compute as compensation

Compensation is money I take home, not resources I use at work.

If the ROI is there, the company should have no problems putting up the money and not treating it like compensation. If the ROI isn’t there and they have to play these games to try and justify the cost… what are we doing here? The emperor has no clothes.

Oh cool, some new fresh hell to avoid. Someone in SV is dreaming of a future where what few humans are left in employment are paid solely in AI tokens than they can trade for gruel.
