Every bit of surveillance that can be leveraged against us, will be eventually. The drive to surveil us has a lot of overlap with addiction.

Good. Too many people are willing to do insane shit like renting a house and leaving it empty just to get their kid in a school they don’t live near.

If they are paying rent for a house that money is going into property taxes which is paying for their enrollment.

If they can buy a house and leave it empty they can buy a car and leave it empty.

The real problem is that plates disclose any information. It was a useful fearure 30 years ago.

Like for example what business do people have learning how new your car is? Some even buy a new car to avoid the badge of shame.

Why do i need to know when your registration expires?

Why is a school district spending huge amounts of money on this software - why does it even care where the students are? And secondly, why are they violating the privacy of students and parents? This is outrageous.

It’s actually a real problem because of how we fund schools - with local tax dollars.

I’ve seen someone try to claim their ownership of an empty lot as the basis for getting their children into a better school district.

    It’s a mess.

I personally know two families who use their grandparents address to get into a better school district.
