The author describes becoming an electrician at around age 40. BLS data about injuries and fatalities among electricians in the US is at https://www.bls.gov/iif/snapshots/osn-electricians-2016-20.h... but I’m not finding a good comparison / contextualization of electrician work vs. other professions.
