Show HN: I built a way for my family to access my accounts in an emergency
keeplineage.comI realized something uncomfortable about my life.
We’ve moved most of our lives online, like for banking, investments, subscriptions, crypto, cloud storage, etc. But what if someone needed to step in and manage any of it during a crisis? Not just access but clear instructions.
So I built a tool for myself.
A secure way to document digital accounts so the people I trust know exactly what to do if they ever need to. It only gives them access when it's actually needed. Until then, everything stays encrypted and invisible.
Turns out I'm not the only one with this thought. So I turned it into Lineage: keeplineage.com Nice idea. How do you guarantee lifetime service? How long is lifetime? What if your company goes out of business? I have it setup to be run autonomously as much as possible, the company will never go out of business (nothing is 100% but I will make sure to fight to the very end) cause I plan to just bulk buy servers once I have enough users. Lifetime currently should be up to 100 years, because it is low maintenance, I don't think server cost will affect stuff, but in future I plan to charge by 10 year period, but for now it should be 100 years.
