SpaceX Rocket Generates 100GW of Power, or 20% of US Electricity
twitter.com...at peak. Which is a kinda silly thing to say really. It's like measuring dynamite in % of electricity of a village or something.
Better yet, look at the power output of a femtosecond laser (e.g. some unremarkable tabletop experiment in a lab in Clark Hall is many GW at peak!)
But I think it's not silly, it's at the heart of what a rocket is and how it compares to other technologies like, say, an airplane powered by a jet engine.
Sure, but it's silly for all the readers who read it and go "oh my god, we should use this for electricity instead" or whatever. The context of the audience is... not everything, but very important to if something is accidental misinformation even if technically true.
