Elon Musk's SpaceX, Tesla, and xAI in talks to merge, according to reports
techcrunch.comSpaceX would only be harmed by the merger. They're a great company on their own, accomplishing amazing things and creating revenue. Tesla is going down the tubes, X still makes some money from ads but is basically just a propaganda outlet, and this new robotics thing is a ketamine dream. Whatever enabled Musk to create SpaceX and Tesla seems to be slipping.
Falcon nine is the best rocket for accessing Earth orbit and sometimes beyond. Getting a rocket that wasn't designed for it to land the booster is an amazing accomplishment.
But Starship is questionable. It's supposed to be big and cheap. It sure is big. Choosing a direct path to upper stage reusability is risky. The risk is compounded by the fact that starship isn't leaving Earth or orbit without refueling. And the refueling job is massive. If any of: payload, reusability, launch cadence, in orbit refueling, fall short, none of it works except being a ridiculously large rocket for earth orbit missions.
Wouldn't such a rumour make people think that if they brought Tesla shares, they could get a share of SpaceX if they merge, given their public stock and the later two are not.
So such reports, in such situations, will be interesting if it has an impact on Tesla shares. Which could trigger an investigation.
Nothing will happen. He got off with nothing for directly saying from his own account "Funding secured" on Twitter in a much less nakedly corrupt environment
Musk will inevitably drag down all his companies down with him.
