But until someone builds an electrical vehicle with zero DRM, zero connectivity/tracking/spyware, zero vendor lock-in, and near-100% self-repairability, imma gonna stick with the pre-2006 internal combustion vehicles that meet all those requirements.

Which is why I am following Edison Electric in British Columbia, Canada, with such interest. If anyone is going to release a consumer vehicle like that, it’s going to be them (eventually).
