Mozilla is building an AI 'rebel alliance' to take on industry heavweights
cnbc.comReminds me of that famous speech by Mon Mothma:
“We are launching our own Rebel Star to blow up planets which support the Empire. It’s totally better than the Death Star and not unethical at all. Join us to build a better future for the galaxy!”
Why? I mean why? why can't they just stick to making a browser? AI is 90% wrong and we do not need it, I do not understand...please help me understand this madness!
I ask this about nearly every software company. Almost every vendor of ours has dedicated quite a lot of time and energy to useless AI features.
I think part of the issue is that AI isn't just "features" and things like ChatGPT but it's the underpinning tech for the internet right now. I'm a dev and feel like any tech company or developer has to engage with it or at least understand it. You can't put your head in the sand. I like that you'll be able to just turn off all the AI features on Firefox; I'd rather they weren't there but there is a choice to just not use any of it.
