We posted a job. Then came the AI slop, impersonator and recruiter scam
themarkup.orgCapitalism, greed, and laziness has dug the hole companies now find themselves in.
Job seekers have been on the receiving end of “applicant abuse” for many years, now. Ridiculous skill requirements, endless rounds of interviews, unreasonable tests, bait-and-switch tactics, suddenly-revocable WFH terms, and much, much more.
And now you complain when job seekers try to obtain the upper hand? Oh, the horror of applicants who aren’t grovellingly grateful and gratuitously debasing themselves for this “fantastic opportunity” that your company is providing! Why won’t applicants be the obedient little dancing monkeys companies demand?
Learn to live in the bed you’ve made for yourself. The entire process of hiring is irredeemably toxic and absolutely every issue can be traced back to business decisions.
Applicants are only responding appropriately and rationally.
