The distinction between moral and legal becomes clear. I'm surprised there's no contractual obligation for the "set for life" money to be in a trust fund. I thought (australia) national lottery had an obligation to demonstrate it could pay out.

Do they have a case in law? Not generally a fan of class actions as they play out, but I'm wondering if the bluster that the settlement excludes paying them out is entirely water tight.

It's hard to feel sorry for someone who got $250K a year without working and says they'll "probably lose their house." That's on you, bud. Not the company.
