Show HN: I made a public traffic counter so websites can share verified views
trustviews.ioHey HN,
v0 of a small experiment: a script that counts your page views (done so many times) but exposes them on a public URL so traffic becomes third‑party and linkable instead of “here’s a screenshot of my analytics”.
Adding trust & shareable
I’m curious if this is actually useful for you:
For blogs/directories/communities that sell “exposure”, would public verified views help you prove you send traffic?
For projects, would you use a simple public stats page in launch posts, open‑startup pages, or as a trust badge?
What must be on that page (just views, growth chart, referrers?), and what would stop you from adding it?
Would love blunt feedback on whether this solves a real problem and what would make you install it on your own site. I started this after launching a bunch of tiny projects on “launch directories” and realizing how easy it is to bluff about traffic. Some sites look big but send almost nothing, yet we still drive them content and backlinks. The goal with this experiment is to make it trivial to show real visits instead of claims, so both sides know what’s going on: founders see which places actually move the needle, and directories that do send traffic can prove it.
