I've had Claire Obscura in my backlog, as a JRPG fan I can say I haven't played one in a while that I wholeheartedly enjoyed. Recent Final Fantasy games fall flat, I liked Persona 5 Royal but also found it exhausting. Many of us outside Japan find inspiration from Japanese pop culture to the extent that it becomes a framework that affects the way we interpret the world and contributes to our creativity. I can only celebrate that French people really took this culture into their souls and made something that renews the genre.
