Or better "disabled people". I'm one of them. I don't have a single day dedicated to me other than my birthday, I have a lifelong condition I deal with every day. We were effectively abandoned during lockdown and more of us died from isolation, including suicide and lack of medical care, than from Covid.

This middle class juggling of syntax does not benefit us one bit, but is just another verbal trap for the unwary. It doesn't matter whether you call people "adjective people" or "people with noun", it doesn't improve their quality of life.

Maybe instead of using us as footballs for dubious linguistic activities, they should campaign for things which actually benefit us, such as physical access. In the case of hidden disabilities like autism, they should concentrate the 75%+ of autistic people who have been excluded from the job market.*

Also who the heck says "persons" other than lift/elevator manufacturers?
