Show HN: Where is "mass replacement"? Toy to estimate AI exposure in your org
automationrisk.appTLDR: I've been trying to figure out if AI is actually replacing anyone, I've built an interactive model for you to play with, keen for feedback (is it accurate on your org?)
I've been troubled in understanding if AI is really impacting the job market. I've heard "AI mass replacement" for the past 3 years but... I still haven't seen anything?
So, sounds like an interesting gap for a side project to investigate
Main goals were to answer:
Suppose AI replacement is here, where should I look to see it in my company?
And, if we can predict exposure across companies, which industries & countries will be hit first? and the hardest?
I got surprisingly good estimates by gluing together org chart data from financial reports (+ news stories + job ads) with Anthropic's Economic Index data (click "Help me understand" on the site for a nice visual). Then running that across 1,000+ companies also gave a pretty comparable view x-country/x-industry.I've left it open so you can run whatever company/ industry you want - which then gets added to the overall dataset. It'll also draw up the org chart and overlay all the at risk roles for you - let me know if you see any gaps

P.S. I threw $150 into anthropic credits you can play with - unfortunately don't have unlimited - if you want to sponsor some runs, ping me Tbh these stats aren’t as high as I was expecting. If we’re only hitting 20-30% automation now do we expect it to get much more than this? I haven’t noticed a ChatGPT meaningfully improve in the last year
