Stop asking 'How was school today?' To raise successful, mentally strong kids

The tone and reciprocity are the real keys here. These questions won't work if they feel paternalistic. You can't just ask your kid "what mistake did you learn from?" without being willing to share your mistakes first. It's about changing the whole dynamic.
